Bio

Currently based in Sayulita, Nayarit, Metal sculptor Kelly Bennett has been working with metal since 2004. Learning to weld while working in the ski industry, transitioning to custom lighting and signage and finally opening his own custom furniture business. His love for functional art and the desire to be creative, led to his new found passion.

 

Kelly’s departure from custom furniture to metal sculpting, allows him the freedom to create and build what his mind imagines. His experience with numerous materials gives him the ability to combine mediums in an artistic manner. Honoring the local art and culture has been a main inspiration for his designs. The use of metal adds another layer to the beauty and depth of familiar forms found in the local Mexican culture.
